1. who can use fametwin

You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re under 18 (or under the age of majority where you live), you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they agree to these terms on your behalf.

2. what fametwin is (and isn’t)

fametwin is a free entertainment site. It compares the shape of a face in a photo you choose with publicly available photos of well-known people and shows which ones look most similar. Results, percentages, tiers and “vibes” are an automated, playful guess. They are not a statement of fact about anyone’s identity, ancestry, ethnicity, appearance or worth, and they can be wrong or change from photo to photo. Don’t rely on them for anything.

3. your photos

• They stay on your device. Photos are analyzed inside your browser. They are never uploaded to us, and we never receive them. The privacy policy explains exactly what is analyzed.
• Only use photos you have the right to use: photos of yourself, or of people who have given you permission. For anyone under 18, you need their parent or guardian’s permission too.

4. don’t use fametwin to…

• identify, locate, track, monitor or profile anyone;
• harass, bully, shame, threaten or sexualize anyone, or make or share content that does;
• analyze photos of people without their permission, or of children who aren’t in your care;
• suggest that a celebrity endorses, sponsors or is connected to you, a product, a business or a cause;
• use cards, images or morph videos in advertising or to sell anything;
• pass off a morph or result as real, or use it to deceive, impersonate or defraud anyone;
• break any law or violate anyone’s rights, including privacy, publicity and intellectual property rights;
• scrape, copy, overload or attack the site, get around its security, or tamper with its usage counts.

We may block access for anyone who does these things.

5. celebrities and their photos

The names and photos of public figures are used only to show look-alike results. fametwin is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any person shown, their representatives, or the Wikimedia Foundation. The photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses (such as Creative Commons) or are in the public domain, and each is credited on the photo credits page. Those licenses still apply to the photos, including when they appear in a card or video you save. Please keep the credit line on anything you share.

6. what you make and share

The share card and morph video are created on your device. You may save and share them for personal, non-commercial purposes. They include celebrity photos under their own licenses, credited on the image, plus fametwin branding. You’re responsible for what you post and where you post it.

7. our stuff

The site’s design, code, text, logo and the fametwin name belong to us. Third-party material belongs to its owners and is used under its own license: the celebrity photos, fonts and open-source software listed on the credits page. Please don’t copy the site or use the fametwin name or logo without permission.

8. removal and copyright requests

If you’re one of the people shown on fametwin (or represent them) and want to be removed, or you believe something on the site infringes your copyright or other rights, email [email protected]. Tell us who you are, which person or photo it’s about, and why. We review every request and remove content promptly where appropriate. For copyright complaints, please include: the work you own, where it appears on fametwin, your contact details, and a statement that you’re the owner or are authorized to act for them.

9. no warranties

fametwin is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the site will always be available, error-free or accurate.

10. limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, reputation or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of fametwin. Our total liability for any claim related to fametwin is limited to CA $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

11. indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify us against any claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of fametwin, the photos you use or the content you share, or your breaking these terms or someone else’s rights.

12. changes

We may change, pause or shut down fametwin at any time, and we may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we may ask you to agree again before your next scan. Using fametwin after an update means you accept the new terms.

13. the legal bits

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Ontario, Canada, including the Small Claims Court for claims it can hear. If you use fametwin as a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer-protection laws where you live. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term right away, that doesn’t mean we give up the right to enforce it later. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about fametwin.
