the fine print, but readable
privacy policy.
Last updated November 5, 2026.
The short version: your photo never leaves your device. We don’t upload it, store it, see it, sell it or share it. There are no accounts, no cookies, no ads and no third-party trackers. All we keep are anonymous totals, like “47 photos were scanned today”.
1. who we are
fametwin.com (“fametwin”, “we”, “us”) is independently owned and operated from Ontario, Canada. Questions or requests: [email protected].
2. your photo and face data
When you choose or take a photo, a face-analysis model that has been downloaded into your browser processes it on your own device. It:
- finds the face in the photo and maps 68 points on it (eyes, brows, nose, lips, jaw);
- turns the face’s geometry into a “face print”: a list of 128 numbers;
- estimates the facial expression (for example “happy” or “neutral”), used only for the playful “vibe” line;
- checks photo quality, such as head angle and blur, so it can suggest a better photo.
The face print is compared only with the celebrity face prints that come with the site, to show your look-alikes. fametwin does not estimate your age, gender or ethnicity, and it does not try to work out who you are.
- Nothing is uploaded. Your photo, face print, landmarks, expression and results stay in your browser. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. The site’s security settings stop the page from sending data to any other server.
- Nothing is kept. We never receive this data, so we never store it. On your device it’s held only in the browser’s memory while the page is open. It’s discarded when you scan another photo, reload or close the tab. A share card or video exists only if you choose to save or share it.
- Never sold or shared. We do not sell, lease, trade, disclose or otherwise profit from anyone’s face data.
Face geometry can count as biometric information. Canadian privacy law treats it as sensitive personal information, and laws such as the GDPR, the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act and similar laws in Texas and Washington regulate it. Even though it never leaves your device, we explain what happens here and ask you to agree before your first scan.
3. what we count
To know how many people use fametwin, the page tells our own server when certain things happen. It sends only the name of the event, and the server adds one to that day’s total. The events are: site opened, terms accepted, photo chosen (upload, camera, drag or paste), twin shown, no face found, photo couldn’t be opened, face AI didn’t load, another match tapped, card shared, card saved and morph video saved.
These counts contain no photo, face data, match results, IP address, cookie, device ID or anything else that could identify you. They’re stored only as daily totals.
4. other information
- Hosting. fametwin is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data like IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Cloudflare may process this data outside Canada, including in the United States. We don’t use it to identify or track you.
- Email. If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply.
- On your device. fametwin doesn’t use cookies. It saves one thing in your browser’s local storage: that you accepted the terms, so you aren’t asked every time. Your browser also caches the site’s files, like the AI model, so the site loads faster next time. You can clear both in your browser settings.
5. sharing
We don’t sell or share personal information, including for targeted advertising, and we don’t use third-party advertising or analytics. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes data on our behalf as described above. Links to other sites, like Wikimedia Commons, are covered by their own policies. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
6. children
fametwin is not for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information (for example, by email), contact us and we’ll delete it.
7. your rights
Depending on where you live, for example Canada (under PIPEDA), the EU, the UK, California or other US states, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to how it’s used. Because we don’t hold photos, face data or accounts, there’s usually nothing to access or delete. For emails you’ve sent us, or for any other request, contact [email protected]. We won’t treat you differently for using your rights. You can also complain to a privacy regulator: in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada; elsewhere, your local data protection authority.
For visitors in the EU and UK: the face analysis runs on your device, at your request and with your consent. The anonymous counts and hosting logs rely on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site.
8. security
The site uses HTTPS, a strict content security policy and no third-party scripts. No system is perfectly secure, but your photo can’t be exposed by us because we never have it.
9. changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we may ask you to agree again before your next scan.
10. contact
[email protected]. To ask for a celebrity or photo to be removed, see the terms.
